Prior to the U.S. Open, South Africa’s Gary Player, then 30, has won nearly every other
important event in the world of golf. But until that stifling weekend
in St. Louis, Player had yet to win the U.S. Open. The only
problem that day was the heat. After 72 grueling holes the Open
that year came down to an 18 hole playoff between Player and Kel
Nagle. Player quoted “despite the conditions, I simply cruised
through the round. I was mentally aware of the heat but it had no
physical effect. I was so strong and so fit.” Player’s reputation
stands as one of the fittest golfers to play the game.
I have been doing The Fitness Center for over three years. It has helped my overall fitness and definitely improved my strength for golf. There are two things that a personal trainer at The Fitness Center provided that I didn't have at any other fitness facility: First, commitment, i.e., knowing that there is a trainer waiting for you at an assigned time. That makes you keep the appointment and avoid postponement. Second, a trainer pushes me to make me do a little more during my workout in a safe manner.

I have been working out at The Fitness Center for over two years and could not be happier with the results. I have lost inches in my waist while maintaining the same weight, raised my lean body mass and gotten much stronger. The three days per week strength training and cardiovascular exercise, along with a stretching regimen at home, have improved my golf game, adding distance with less effort and preventing my tiring at the end of a round. I played 99 holes in three days this spring without any muscle aches or soreness.
Vic and the trainers are all professionals, and take a genuine interest in helping to improve your overall health and well-being. I could not recommend a program more highly.
